TRANSFORMED RANCH HOUSE – FROM MID-CENTURY TO MODERN

Architecture & Interior Design: Ellis Architects

General Contractor:
Completion: 2015

At one of the most prominent intersections in Sacramento, this mid-century ranch home had only one previous owner since being built in the 1950’s and was in need of a complete renovation. Although the footprint was only minimally expanded, the interior was reconfigured to provide a more efficient flow throughout the home and provide visual connections between interior and exterior spaces. Full interior design, including light fixture selection, tile layout, slab selections, and furniture placement, were provided for this project. Exterior design studies were generated to assist with the decision to pain the existing brick and provide a more cohesive, contemporary exterior without removing the exterior finishes, as well as locations and size of the new windows.
